Island Park, Idaho

Just west of Yellowstone National Park are the world famous loop trails of the Island Park area. Here you will find over 500 miles of groomed forested trails that provide access to mountains more than 8,000 feet high. ...not to mention thousands of miles of backcountry riding, incredible hillclimbs and breathtaking powder bowls. Bordering Yellowstone National Park and the Continental Divide Trail systems, you also have access to 800 more miles of groomed trails in Montana and Wyoming. This makes the Island Park trail system especially unique. Popular destinations and unforgettable sights include Big Springs, Mesa Falls, Mount Two Top, South Plateau and the Centennial Range of the Rockie Mountains. Mount Jefferson (pictured above) and the Yahoo Chute, The Keg, Willow Creek, Lions Head and many more exciting places are options for the more experienced rider. Renowned Two-Top Mountain provides a spectacular view of Henry's Lake and Henry's Lake Flat.

Area Maps

The topographical maps below are viewable only with the National Geographic TOPO software (Idaho State Series). They provide a level of detail that can be loaded into a GPS or handheld computer and used out on the trails. This kind of information can be very helpful if you're new to the area or exploring places you haven't been yet.
